[圆在中秋] is the capstone event by Great Heart’s Volunteer Training Program (VTP) 5.0 participants. This event, held in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival, aims to not only spread cheer by celebrating the festival with underprivileged children, but to also help their families in these tough times.

The one-day event, held at our community centre, will see games and other fun activities conducted by VTP5.0 volunteers for children aged 5-16. Their families –beneficiaries of Great Heart Community Centre– will also be given grocery care packs worth RM100 each.

63岁的 Gopal a/l Sinnthamby 老先生被诊断出患有末期肾病，也患了很严重的糖尿病，导致他右脚的截肢。他的妻子在这4年内用了自己的公积金来支撑家庭开销。

老先生俩口子没育有孩子。由于老先生生病前只是个打零工的罗里司机，所以并没有社会保险机构（Socso）或公积金的保障。

因此，他与妻子目前只能依靠社会福利局的300令吉辅助付他们的日常开销。但是，昂贵的洗肾费用让老先生与妻子吃不消，所得到的政府辅助金不足以支付他每月超过1600令吉的洗肾开销。

经过审查后，耕心慈善决定援助他渡过六个月的洗肾费用，以每月1,000令吉的洗肾津贴来减轻他与家庭的人经济 负担。为此，耕心慈善在此希望获得大众的爱心和力量，一同为Gopal筹集为期6个月(2019年9月至2020年2月)的洗肾费用，总值6,000令吉！

凑款目标：RM 6,000

Great Heart Online Helping Hand – Case 17:

Gopal a/l Sinnthamby is a 63-years old man who is not only diagnosed with end stage renal failure (ESRF), but also suffers from severe diabetes that has forced his right leg to be amputated.

During the last 4 years, his wife’s EPF savings were spent completely to support their daily expenses. The senior couple has no children. Due to the fact that Gopal worked as a contract lorry driver when he was young, he is not eligible to receive any SOCSO or EPF benefits.

Currently, they are relying on Department of Social Welfare (JKM) monthly allowance of RM300 to cover their daily food expenses. Other government welfare subsidies for which he is eligible are not enough to fully cover his dialysis fee that requires more than RM 1600 monthly.

As a compassionate and responsible charity organisation, Great Heart Charity Association has decided to reduce Gopal’s financial burden by giving a subsidy of RM1,000 per month for 6 months to cover part of his dialysis treatment expenses, beginning from September 2019 to February 2020.

59岁的Sutini Binti Timbul 于5个月前刚失去丈夫，目前独居。失去依靠的她也因患病（高血压于肾病）被迫停止工作，生活陷入困苦。目前她只能依靠政府辅助金1000令吉来过活。

这笔辅助金还是无法负担她庞大的医药费及生活费。领取辅助金后，她还必须负担每月总超过1000令吉的房租以及洗肾费。她的六名孩子也因经济能力有限无法帮助他们的母亲。

耕心慈善希望获得大众的爱心和力量，一同为Sutini筹集为期6个月(2019年8月至2020年1月)的洗肾费用，总值4,320令吉！

凑款目标：RM 4,320

Great Heart Online Helping Hand – Case 16:

Sutini binti Timbul is a 59-years old lady who is currently living alone after losing her husband 5 months ago. She is unable to work due to suffering from high blood pressure and kidney failure.

Currently, she depended on Zakat and SOCSO’s Invalidity Pension, which totals up to RM1,000, to cover all her daily expenses such as food, rental, and utility bills. However, such allowance is still not enough to support her household and dialysis expenses. She needed to pay more than RM1,000 on her own even after SOCSO’s subsidy that helps reduce some of her dialysis fee. Sutini’s six children could not help her either due to their own financial constraints.

As she is unable to cover her dialysis fee, Great Heart Charity will be supporting her with RM720 monthly and requires help from the public to assist her for six months, beginning August 2019 until January 2020, with a total required funds of RM4,320 to relieve her financial burden.

59岁的 Hussen bin Abdullah 目前与他48岁的妻子，Mukaromah 生活在一起。妻子的工作是名女佣，每月收入只有800令吉。他们育有一位女儿，现在和婆婆居住在印尼。

Hussen 以前是建筑工地的清洁工人，但因患上肾病而必须停工。后来，他又被诊断患有高血压和糖尿病，所以需要常去吉隆坡医院或附近的政府诊所预约看病。

他们两口的家庭开销目前依靠着老婆微薄的收入来承担。他们每个月还需提供150令吉的生活费给居住在印尼的女儿和婆婆。他们的收入根本无法负担一间屋子租金，只能够租一间狭窄的小房做为他们的安乐窝。

耕心慈善希望得到大众的爱心和力量，帮助筹集Hussen 从2019年7月到2020年1月的洗肾费用 (每月1,500令吉)。总凑款目标是10,500令吉！

Great Heart Online Helping Hand – Case 15:

Hussen bin Abdullah, 59, lives with his wife Mukaromah, 48, in a small room. His wife works as a maid, earning a monthly salary of RM800. They have one daughter who had just graduated and lives in Indonesia with her grandmother. His wife has to cover all the household expenses including his dialysis fee and their daughter’s monthly living allowance of RM150.

Hussen used to work as a construction site worker and cleaner but his services was terminated due to his kidney illness. He was also diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes and frequently needs to go for appointment in Hospital KL or nearby government clinic.

The monthly dialysis fee of Hussen is RM1,950. Great Heart Charity will be supporting him with RM1,500 monthly and requires help from the public to assist him for 7 months, beginning July 2019 until January 2020, with a total required funds of RM10,500.

Dayanidhi是一名13岁被诊断患有脑瘫的小孩。说话不清楚，不能走路或上厕所冲凉，最可怜的是他不能吃硬体的食物。他的体质只能喝Pediasure品牌的牛奶，而不是其他的牛奶品牌，因那会导致呕吐和腹泻。

然而，她需要为她的孩子购买费用每罐为150令吉的Pediasure 牛奶，每个月5至6罐。妈妈Kalaivahni是一位家庭清洁工人，工钱区区700令吉, 因为她只能趁孩子早上还没醒来的时间快快去做工，中午的时间就得回来照顾孩子到晚上。

她也兼职做椰浆饭，米粉，炒面，糕点 来卖给当地的教会赚取每个月200令吉左右。但是要供房租，吃，还有另外两个小孩子的学费，让她经济负担庞大。

妈妈之前曾经想过要送孩子去残疾者中心，但是过往她称说她的孩子曾被虐待所以不敢再送给任何其他的中心来照顾。值得庆幸的是目前有个私人慈善团体正在帮助他每个月3罐Pediasure 奶粉和 10 包尿片，所以耕心慈善每月需要帮助Dayanidhi多两罐 Pediasure 奶粉, 价钱差不多是300令吉。

耕心慈善协会将帮他筹集每个月300令吉，从2019年5月到12月，总共2400令吉, 来减轻他妈妈的负担。

Great Heart Online Helping Hand – Case 14:

Dayanidhi is an 13-year-old child diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a disorder that affects the way he controls his muscles and movements, causing him unable to walk, shower, and could not even swallows solid food. Therefore, he can only drink Pediasure milk to provide his body with nutrient, as other brands will cause him to vomit and have diarrhea.

His mother, Kalaivahni is a part time house cleaner, who earns ​​RM700 to support the household. She can only work in the morning as she needs to come back home during afternoon to take care of Dayanidhi and her two other children until night time. She needs to buy 5 to 6 tins of Pediasure monthly, which costs RM 150 each, for Dayanidhi to support his body nutrient intake.

In order to earn additional income, his mother will make nasi lemak, fried noodles, rice noodles, and pastries to sell at a local church and earn around RM200 per month. However, with her current salary, she still has a huge financial burden to cover for rent, food, and tuition fees of her two other children.

She had placed Dayanidhi into a disabled centre before, but after Dayanidhi was abused by the caretaker there, Kalaivahni was unwilling to send Dayanidhi to other disabled centres now and insist on taking care of him by herself.

Fortunately, a private charity is helping him with three tins of Pediasure milk and ten packs of diapers monthly. Therefore, Great Heart Charity Association (GHCA) only needs to support Dayanidhi with two tins of Pediasure milk monthly, which cost RM300 approximately.

The milk supplies support for Dayanidhi will start from May 2019 to December 2019. A fundraising target of RM2,400 is set for this so as to support his family and reduce their financial burden.

Chang Ah Chai 先生，今年65岁，来自登嘉楼。20多年前来到吉隆坡打工。

他目前仍然单身，独居在一个小小的店屋里，他的工作是在食档里帮忙老板卖鸡饭，一做就过了20年了。

可惜在2017年的时候，他被诊断出患有高血压，糖尿病和末期肾病而需要去洗肾。

每周需要洗肾三次，而每次洗肾就需要4个小时，非常辛苦及疲累的他却从没有想过要放弃治疗。

他一个月收入有大约有1,800令吉 , 而他就把大部分的收入都花在洗肾的费用和平时的开销。但是洗肾费用其实非常昂贵，可去到1500令吉以上，这个经济负担实在让他喘不过气，他目前已经申请了政府津贴，正在等待政府批准。

他自立的性格和坚强的态度让耕心慈善的社工感到敬佩，因为虽然他有了一把年纪又需要洗肾，却还是坚持天天去上班，努力赚钱向上！

在这段辛苦的时间里，耕心慈善决定赞助他一年的洗肾费用，每月1,000 令吉的洗肾津贴来减轻他的负担。

目前耕心慈善已经赞助了长达三个月（从2019年二月至四月），我们希望以大众的爱心和力量，我们可以凑到足够的款项来赞助他从2019年五月到2020年一月 – 每月1000令吉的洗肾费用，目标凑款是9,000令吉！

Great Heart Online Helping Hand – Case 13:

Mr Chang Ah Chai is a 65 years old man who is single and lives alone. He moves from Terengganu to Kuala Lumpur to work as a stall helper in chicken rice hawker stall for more than 20 years. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with high blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney failure in 2017. Even though he needs to undergo hemodialysis treatment three days a week, but he never gives up on himself and continue working every day.  What makes all of us admired is that even on his treatment days, he still pushed himself to go to work after the treatment as he is very determined to be independent. He earned approximately RM1800 monthly and he spent most of his savings on medical treatment and personal expense. The medical haemodialysis treatment is expensive as it can cost up to RM1500 above monthly, so he is currently applying the subsidies from Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia and is waiting for approval.

Since Great Heart Charity Association had supported him with monthly RM1000 dialysis fee for 3 months from Feb 19 to Apr 19, we are looking for the public donation to support Mr Chang from May 19 to Jan 20 with monthly RM1000 subsidies for him to undergo haemodialysis treatment. The total fundraising target is RM9000 in total.

Madam Meng Kwai Sim is a 66 years old single lady who stays alone. She had previously worked as a babysitter, promoter, and assistant supervisor in supermarket. However, when she is getting older,  her physical condition deteriorated and she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, high blood pressure, and kidney failure, which prevented her from working. Monthly hemodialysis expense up to RM1500 above and the household expense is stressing her out financially. With no one in the family to rely to, she is hoping that Great Heart Charity Association can continue to support her in hemodialysis expense for RM720 monthly to reduce her financial burden, starting from February 2019 to July 2019.

Total fundraising target: RM4320.

Great Heart Online Helping Hand – Case 11:

Madam Tan, 68 years old, suffers from high blood pressure and kidney failure. She needs to go through kidney dialysis treatment 3 times a week. She runs a sewing business in a small shop but as the rental increase, she faced difficulty to sustain her business. She only earned roughly RM1200 monthly and its not enough to cover her own expense and her shop rental that cost RM800.

She has 3 children, but they can only support partial of the household expense and some home allowance because they have their family burden as well. What troubled the most right now is hemodialysis treatment fee that cost RM1300 above monthly.

She is hoping to continue to get the subsidies from Great Heart Charity for another 6 months, given that Great Heart Charity had been helped for 6 months. RM720 subsidies monthly is needed from February 2019 to July 2019, totaled up to RM4320 total fundraising amount.

Great Heart Online Helping Hand – Case 10:

A 43-year-old single mother with 2 children, who has to bear the responsibility to take care one of the children that was diagnosed of muscular dystrophy and is bed-ridden. She used to be the company’s receptionist in Shah Alam but she was unable to drive to work after her car broke down and it led to unemployment in April 2018.

After the encouragement from Great Heart Charity Association (GHCA), she decided to open a nasi lemak stall to support the family’s expenses. Every morning, she and her sister will go to the nearby industrial area to start her nasi lemak business. GHCA had helped her with one-time support of RM200 to purchase the necessary table and canopy, and RM300 per month (June 18 – November 18) to buy the necessary ingredients for nasi lemak. On top of that, GHCA will subsidise another RM150 to buy the pampers for her children who are bed-ridden. GHCA is looking for a volunteer who stay nearby Puncak Alam to purchase all the necessary ingredients and pampers for her monthly.

From an unemployed women, GHCA successfully turned her into a small business women who earned at least RM1.5k monthly. Please support her in the nasi lemak business:
