His 20 years old daughter who works in social media pays for all these expenses, a heavy burden on her small income of RM2000 a month.

The youngest son, 17, works in the game industry earning RM800 a month.
Since their family only own a second-hand motorcycle, Kuay Mok San takes a taxi, to the dialysis centeraccompanied by his daughter. The General Hospital has submitted his application to Socso. Meanwhile, Tzu Chi provides a RM50 subsidyfor each dialysis session, pending the approval from Socso to lighten the burden of his medical expenses.

]]>Ng Ching Oh moved to another dialysis centre after catching a virus infection in a dialysis centre in Klang. Currently, he travels by motor every Wednesday from Klang to Petaling Jaya, spending about RM2000 a month for dialysis treatment. He needs medication after undergoing surgery for heart disease. He also had diabetes problems; with decreased vision he cannot drive at night. He and his wife currently live in his sister-in-law’s home, but the house has been mortgaged to the bank as they were unable to settle the monthly installments. He is not able to work and his wife works for a monthly salary of about RM600. His 18 year old son is living with the grandmother in Pahang.

]]>53岁的黎生从事广告业务，靠打臨時工為生，本身居住的地方也是他的工作室。和太太离异后，三个孩子归妈妈。黎生患有糖尿病和肾病，每星期都需要洗肾三次。居住在蕉赖的他，因为住家附近一带的洗肾中心都爆满，在朋友的介绍下来到安邦九皇爷洗肾。每逢洗肾日黎生都不能工作，得去中心扎很痛的針，躺四個小時接受透析，風裡雨裡都是他自己騎电单車往返中心。每月洗腎費费用对黎生而言是一项承重的负担，对于收入不稳定的他，生活入不敷出。现阶段在申请政府的洗肾津贴，希望早日得到政府的援助。

]]>53 year old Lai Sang works from home, doing freelancing jobs in advertising. He has three children who lives with the mother after his divorce.
Lai Sang who suffers from diabetes and kidney failure, needs dialysis three times a week. He inquired at the dialysis centre near his house in Cheras but found it was already full. On his friend’s recommendation he went to the Kau Ong Yah dialysis centre in Ampang, KL.
On the days that he goes for the painful four-hour dialysis session, Lai Sang is unable to work. Come rain or shine, he goes back and forth on his motorcycle as missing even one session can cause complications.
The monthly dialysis fee is a heavy burden for him, as his income is not stable and his application for government subsidy is still pending approval.

她育有4名儿子1名女儿，但都已成家立业， 各自都背负着自己家庭的负担。 其中一名是弱智。即使如此，家人都在为着孙女士的病情想尽办法，希望她能够病情有些好转。所幸孙女士对自己也无从放弃，在大家的鼓励下，继续坚持下去。

Her daughter takes her to the Kau Ong Yah dialysis center. However, the long term treatment and accumulative medical costs has led to a very heavy burden for the family. Her family, four sons and a daughter are all married with their own families to take care of. One of the children is mentally retarded.
Soon Yoke Lan knows that life is fragile and wants to make every day count. With encouragement from everyone around her, she wants to live a full life; a simple but happy life with her family. 肾病患者吃喝都要特别照顾，不能增加一点肾脏负担，还要不断做检查。林女士如需住院或注射红细胞生成素，来提高血红素的水平。对小康家庭而言，也都是難以承受的負荷。

]]>Lam Suet Ying lives in a government flat, but at the age of 72 suffers from high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and had a stroke twice. As she needs to undergo dialysis three times a week, the monthly cost of dialysis is a heavy financial burden for the family. Their only source of income is from her 42-year-old son who is working in a steelworks factory. His wife works part-time for a low pay and their 15 year old son is still in school.
A dialysis patient should pay special attention to the food they eat, not to let the food bring unnecessary burden to the kidney. At times, injections to raise the hemoglobin are needed at an extra cost. This is an extra burden even for families without financial worries.

]]>叶秀芳女士28岁就患上糖尿病，但是不断更换药物的关系而导致肾病。2015年4月开始洗肾(Kidney Dialysis Treatment)，但是洗肾后的她血压不稳定，需要进院输血。每天，她都不能饮水超过过500ml, 一天只能吃3小份的肉类。叶女士每星期洗肾三次(每次RM120)和打补针两支(每支RM50)花费RM460，每月RM1840。
目前，家里的经济来源是靠从事汽车黑镜的儿子，每月挣千多块的来承担；丈夫也用了自己的公积金才付清房子贷款。
审查过程中，叶女士不断地流泪，她没想过自己需要洗肾，才开始洗肾的她已经感到身心疲累了。

]]>Ms Yap Siew Fong, 28 who had been suffering from diabetes, eventually suffered kidney failure as she kept changing her medication. She began dialysis treatment in April 2015. Due to her unstable blood pressure, she needs blood transfusion after each dialysis session. Each day, she is not allowed to drink more than over 500ml, and only allowed three small portions of meat. Ms Yap needs dialysis three times a week, with two injections incurring very high cost.
All expenses are paid by her son, who is in the auto tinting business. However, this doesn’t leave much to pay for their house installment. Her husband has to use his EPF funds to cover the monthly installments.
Ms Yap shed tears throughout our assessment interview. She revealed that it’s been a long tiring process from the moment she realised she had to go for dialysis and she is now mentally exhausted.
Great Heart Charity Association will provide financial support to Ms. Yap to help cover the high cost of dialysis treatment of RM 720 per month up to four month continually.
