Legal Clinic is set up to provide legal advice to anyone who encounters legal problem(s) and wishes to seek legal advise. The Legal Clinic session will be conducted by our legal advisor(s) commencing from 1 December 2020 at Great Heart Community Centre every Tuesday, from 10AM to 12PM.

Do I have to pay for legal advice?
No. It is free of charge.
Do I have to make a prior appointment?
It is advisable to make an appointment as walk-in consultations are based on a first come first serve basis. Commencing from 1 December 2020, Legal Clinic will be held at Great Heart Community Centre on every Tuesday, from 10AM to 12PM. You may contact us at 03-3381 0955 to make an appointment.
Should I bring along any documents?
Yes, you may bring along the documents related to your legal issues, if any, so that our legal advisor could understand your legal issues better. This will enable you to gain the maximum benefit from your visit and minimise the need for multiple visits.
How long each session would be?
+/- 30 minutes, depending on the complexity of the legal issues.
Who is entitled for consultation at the Legal Clinic?
Anyone who encounters legal problem(s) and wishes to seek legal advice is welcomed to drop by for a free consultation.
Do I need to register?
Yes, simple registration is required. It will be done at Great Heart Community Centre.
What are the terms and conditions of our Legal Clinic?
(a) By joining our Legal Clinic, you agree that no “attorney-client” relationship is formed. The legal advises given are preliminary advise for your legal issues.
(b) Our legal advisor shall not be held responsible and/or liable for any legal advise given.
(c) Our legal advisor is only able to dispense legal advise within her expertise or your issue is not a complicated legal issue.
(d) We will protect your privacy and keep your information safe.
The Legal Aid Program is established to cater for the poor and the needy, ensuring that they could obtain impartial legal representation. Complimentary or discounted legal aid (individual civil related cases) is provided to B40 communities only.

What types of legal aid are available?
It is only applicable to individual civil related cases. You may first inquire with our personnel whether your legal issues are eligible under our legal aid program.
Property purchase transactions, drafting of corporate agreements, arbitration and constructions are excluded in our legal aid program.
Can I receive complimentary or discounted legal aid?
Our legal aid program is strictly for B40 communities. Our personnel will conduct a background assessment on applicants to determine whether such applicants are eligible for complimentary or discounted legal aid.
How can I get this aid?
You must first drop-by our Legal Clinic for legal consultation. If legal aid is needed, our personnel will further determine whether you are eligible for complimentary or discounted services based on the background assessment.
There are 2 categories of aid, which are
First category: No professional fees are payable, but with nominal disbursement fee.
Second category: Discounted professional fees, with nominal disbursement fee.

Can I refer B40 contacts (people/NGOs/homes) to receive legal consultation or aid from this Community Legal Services too?
Yes. You may refer B40 contacts to walk-in to our Legal Clinic for free consultant, or best with a reservation at 03-3381 0955. The complimentary/discounted legal aid is however still dependent on the background assessment.
